Jeanne Rudd

Join us for an unforgettable evening of live jazz with Vancouver vocalist Jeanne Rudd, a captivating performer celebrated for her expressive scatting and soulful improvisational style.

Jeanne brings a rich musical heritage to the stage. The daughter of Montreal jazz bassist Bob Rudd, who recorded the first Be-Bop record in Canada in 1946, she has been immersed in jazz her whole life. Since stepping onto the Vancouver jazz scene in 2018, she has grown quickly through open mics, jam sessions, and seven years as a member of the Vancouver Jazzy Jammers. Her musical background spans guitar, ballet, and choral singing, giving her performances a unique depth and versatility.

In April 2023, Jeanne was awarded "Most Inspiring Jazz Vocalist" sponsored by Tom Lee Music and Maria's Records, a testament to the impression she leaves on every audience she performs for. She has since graced the stage at Brentwood's Jazz Evensong, MLK Day celebrations, and Black History Month concerts, where she has shared the story of her father's pioneering contribution to Canadian jazz.

With original compositions already performed live and a debut CD on the way in 2026, this is a rare chance to experience an artist on the rise. Expect warmth, swing, and spontaneity in every note.
