About
Our story
Aperture Coffee Bar began on W. Broadway and is now operating on Main Street at King Edward in Vancouver.
The name “Aperture” is borrowed from photography, the opening of a lens that lets light in, and it’s been our guiding idea from day one: keep the space open, warm, and focused on people. We’ve always aimed to be a neighbourhood fixture and a place to relax, where culture can thrive.
That focus on culture is why we host live music night at our Main Street location. Bands perform in the back room, creating an intimate room for listening and conversation. Interested bands can reach us at aperturecoffeebarmain@gmail.com. The room also supports private events and community gatherings, keeping the café connected to the people around it.
From our photography roots to our current home on Main Street, Aperture keeps the same simple promise: good coffee, a welcoming room, and programming that brings people together.
live music night
The back room at our Main Street café turns into a cozy listening room for live jazz. The space is intimate and close to the players, warm acoustics, lights low, so the focus stays on the conversation between musicians and the audience.
Order a cappuccino or a glass of wine, settle in, and let the room do what it was built for: connection through music.
We feature a rotating lineup of local artists from swing standards to modern improvisation and keep the curation community-driven.
If you’re a band interested in playing, send a short note with your links, lineup, and a few preferred dates to aperturecoffeebarmain@gmail.com.
We’ll follow up with availability and next steps. Please plan to bring your instruments and any specialty gear you require.
